2008

In September 2008, I decided to go on an exchange with my university– studying politics in contemporary Europe– for three months. It was my first time traveling outside of Canada, my first time experiencing Europe. While there, I had the opportunity to backpack to a few different countries and this is when I caught the travel bug ;)

2011

I was well into my second semester of my graduate degree in European and Russian studies when I found out that I had received funding to travel Russia! My heart pretty much stopped when I read the letter. I couldn’t believe it! What an opportunity– to spend the summer in Russia! So from the end of June to mid August, I lived and studied Russian in Saint Petersburg (also taking the completely neccessary trip to the capital, Moscow!).

Prior to my trip to Mother Russia, however, I was delighted to find out that my family was taking me to Florida in mid-June! I was super excited because it was my very first time in the United States and visiting Disney World! It was certainly a childhood dream come true :)
